Coffs Harbour Relocations and Storage Removalist
Why choose Coffs Harbour Relocations and Storage?
About Us
John and Joy met while they both worked in the removal industry; they married, then lived in and later bought the old Saggus family home in Coffs Harbour, where they reared four children together, Kerry-Louise, Michael, Daniel, and Polly.
John, a born-and-bred Karangi boy and only child to Gloria and Silvano Dal-Bon, grew up in the middle of the Coffs Coast then fast-paced, competitive banana industry.
Joy, a born-and-bred Coffs Harbour girl and youngest of five children to Joan and Noel Saggus, grew up in the furniture removal industry.
When John and his parents moved from their banana farm in Karangi to town, John (a strapping young lad) helped with the relocation and continued to work for that business (owned by Joy's older sister) for the next 23 years until the day it sold.
It was then, early in 2009 that John and Joy decided to follow in the Saggus family tradition and start their own removal and storage business working alongside their Children Michael and Daniel.
Michael and Daniel have grown up with hands-on experience in the furniture removal and storage industry. John and Joy's children are actually the fifth generation of their family to keep working in the removal industry, their great-great-grandfather, Charles Saggus with his horse and dray, being the first. So you could say it's in our blood.
Starting out with just one small truck, operating from a small warehouse and a whole lot of heart John, Joy and their two sons, Michael and Daniel sat anxiously and waited for the phone to ring; and ring it did!
A few years later Coffs Harbour Relocations and Storage consist of an AFRA award-winning fleet of 4 various size trucks ranging from 18 cubic meters – 54 cubic meters and one Caddy Van, the newest of the bunch being used for carton delivery, Pre-pack prior to relocation, conducting of pre-removal surveys and is our zippy little advertising machine. Coffs Harbour Relocations and Storage occupies 3 warehouses and employ around 8-10 Coffs Harbour locals, which tends to increase during our busy seasons. We are still operating out of the very same purpose built storage facility, built by Joy's father in 1972 that saw N.V Saggus Pty Ltd create the foundations and grassroots that we still adhere to; to this day.
In keeping with the Saggus tradition, the green and yellow colours are reminiscent of the past generations. Our modern signage has a fresh, inviting look combining the banana leaf, which represents the family tradition of the Dal-Bon family in the banana industry. The road going through the leaf, and winding into the sunset represents the life of a furniture removalist on the road. The vibrant yellow sun is how we think of Coffs Harbour – bright and sunny.
